Soaring window treatments, plush carpet, and an elegantly decorated four poster bed bring a high-end hotel suite-like feel to a new home’s oversized master bedroom.
This interior design project was for an executive and his wife who had just purchased the home and wanted the master retreat to be the first room completed in their new residence.
The interior design direction was determined by the traditional architecture of the home and sheer size of the room. With so much square footage to work with and soaring tray ceilings, we were inspired to create a room resembling a luxury suite at the Ritz.
We placed the king-size, four-poster bed at one end of the bedroom creating a sleeping area. Dressing the bed in chocolate quilted velvet with aquamarine accents, the rich, dark velvet created a bold contrast with the blue walls that was dramatic and relaxing.
The opposite end of the room had a large alcove where we placed a desk and chairs for an area to write notes to friends or set a table for an intimate breakfast for two. In between the bed and desk area, we placed a small settee with an upholstered ottoman to read or watch the television in the large armoire.
The Nashville homeowners were pleased with the outcome and felt that it was their own private hotel suite at home. It was missing only one important element–room service!
