Well, the Traditional Home Junior League of High Point Showhouse has one last weekend and I’ve finally recovered from High Point Market and it’s almost time to go and take it all down. But before that happens I wanted to share with you some of my favorite design moments throughout the house and the amazing talent of designers from all over the Southeast.
The sun came out just in time for the opening night gala… The Library Terrace was conveniently located on the way to the bar, so that kept a steady flow of friends stopping by to admire our work, the beautiful Bevolo Lanterns, and to say hello!
The Pool Area complete with more Summer Classics Furniture was cheery and offered a tempting space to relax and enjoy a chat with partygoers…
But, now lets look at the amazing talent of the designers of the house…First up is the Foyer by Traci Zeller Designs…a jewel box complete with fabulous art, a checker board wood tile floor, blue and white porcelain, all paired with my newest color story obsession, lavender.Apparently Jack Pfillips shares my obsession with Blue and White, because he and coconspirator Sally Altizer greeted guests in the living room with an explosion of it.The wood paneled library was given a feminine touch by Michelle Workman and incorporates the amazing upholstery of Wesley Hall and repeats the blue and lavender pairing that I love. The zany boys of The Madcap Cottage showed amazing attention to detail in the Dining Room and indulged another of my favorite whims…a Tiny Chair!!The next flight of fancy is in the powder bath where designer Margaret Fisher cocooned us in butterflies and metallic finishes!By now your drink should need a refresher, and what better place to pull up a seat that at the Hollywood glamour created by my friend Christie Barbour of Barbour Spangle DesignsThen it’s off to the Kitchen and Breakfast Room by the superbly gifted Lisa Mende. This space was the SHOWSTOPPER! Oh, AND Lisa did the mud room/dog room as well! SO FUN!! Upstairs I want to share with you the ladies dressing room by Kara Cox Interiors…So Chic!I know…Sneak peaks are frustrating! The talented Leslie Moore did the Artist Studio with soft yellows and grays as her color palette…
Catherine Austin put together the most beautiful bedroom with her usual flair for color!
Libby Langdon was daring and bold in the Master Bedroom with Black walls, white carpets, Mirrored closets….TO DIE FOR! The carriage house adds to this beautiful property with room for more guests who can relax in luxury in Parker Kennedy Living‘s bedroom that features Thibaut fabrics and wallcovering and the fab chandelier by Taylor Burke Home.
and now envision my last and final stop on our tour filled with party goers…I couldn’t take a picture because it’d be too incriminating… But Holly Phillips lounge was the “it” spot to be at the close of a fantastic night. If you happen to be a High Point local or somewhere close by…The show house will be open this Friday, Saturday and Sunday! Don’t miss out! There’s TONS more fantastic design than this small space would allow me to share. GO SEE IT!
