It’s been some time since my last blog, but the interior design business has been a-furry with news of Traditional Home 25th Anniversary Issue this and Charles Faudree that, and it has had me a wee bit distracted…
SO, the holidays are upon us! We will soon be welcoming not just party-goers(as discussed in my last blog) but relatives that come eager to occupy guest quarters, eat one’s food, and spoil the grand dogs. It’s the perfect time to take a peek at the Guest Room and Bath to make sure that everything is ship shape. Here’s a handy checklist to make sure we are ready to make our guests feel welcome. If you get it right, you may have to ask them to leave…What’s that saying??? “Fish and House Guests start to stink after 3 days.” 
1. A comfy bed with a variety of bedding depending on the temperatures and whether they’re hot-natured or not. Be sure to have an extra throw or blanket nearby for them to make themselves comfortable.
2) Nice towels and wash clothes AND a place to hang them.
3) Extra soaps, shampoo & conditioner.
4) Maybe a few extra toothbrushes and razors, just in case they were really forgetful. 
5) A spot to sit – Maybe to put on their shoes, or read a book.
6) A carafe of water and a drinking glass so they don’t have to trek down to the kitchen in the middle of the night.
7) We like to have a few magazines on hand should they want to catch up on their favorite designers work in Traditional Home. Wink, Wink! 
8) A desk for an extra grooming spot or to send a note. At our desk we provide a few note cards so they can write to furry friends back home or leave a word of appreciation for our fabulous hospitality. 
Time to go dear ones. I must run through the checklist in our own guest suite and make sure that we are ready to welcome friends and family to our humble abode with warmth and good ole southern hospitality. This is brought to you by Moi and a little thing I like to call #redemptivedesign.
