In the pages of Traditional Home: Master of the Mix, interior designer Eric Ross pays tribute to his inspiration, the late Charles Faudree, through a stunning sunroom addition for client Debbie Jacobs. A longtime admirer of Faudree’s eclectic style, Ross embraced the designer’s philosophy of “the mix, not the match.” He transformed the sunroom with a harmonious palette of paisley fabrics, acorn-and-oak-leaf sheers, and layered textures that embody
Faudree’s signature look. The space features a coffered ceiling of pecky cypress, a Pennsylvania stone floor, and a mix of antique and contemporary furnishings, creating a casual yet sophisticated atmosphere. Ross emphasized a balance between masculine and feminine elements, ensuring the room served as a welcoming retreat for both Debbie and her husband. More than just a beautiful space, this project celebrates the legacy of a beloved designer, encapsulating the joy of creating beauty in everyday life.
“That is what you really hope for as a designer–that you create beauty in someone’s world.”
— ERIC ROSS
