In the January 2024 feature in Atlanta Homes and Lifestyles, Eric Ross shared how he created a serene bedroom that highlighted a stunning mountain view for the Cashiers Designer Showhouse located in Cashiers, North Carolina.
Ross positioned twin beds on either side of the window, drawing the eye toward the landscape and enhancing the room’s spaciousness. Drawing inspiration from the wooded surroundings, he chose a blue-and-white forest-scene fabric for the drapery, coordinating with a Turkish rug, antique transferware, and bedding in similar tones.
The room’s classic appeal is elevated by white iron beds, an antique chest, and a gold Louis Philippe mirror. The adjoining bathroom continues the tranquil theme with blue-and-white striped wallpaper and pale blue cabinetry. An antique étagère with turned legs, mirroring the bedroom’s ottomans, elegantly connects the two spaces, establishing a cohesive and restful retreat.
“By placing the twin beds on either side of the window, it invites the viewer to come closer to the window…”
— ERIC ROSS
