With every passing month, and with every new design periodical, it is more and more apparent that Country French is dead, and a more modern interior design style is thriving. Don’t get me wrong, I love layering multiple textures and patterns to get a cozy, charming room. However, there are no more roosters or farm animals for today’s modern interiors.
The move from Country French to Vintage Modern is an easy one to make. The look is more eclectic than Country French, since you can add more metals and industrial objects. Try combining shiny finishes with well-worn antiques. Side tables with metal casters and reclaimed woods that look as if they came from an abandoned factory will add a Vintage Modern feel to a room with various fabrics and furniture styles.
