Mountain Living (Part 2) Bedrooms

More on Roostica Cottage, because I am obsessed with it!  Today, it’s about the bedrooms.  You guys know i love to assign a theme for each room I decorate.  For one of the guest rooms I wanted blue and white, of course.   This is perfect for the twin bedroom because boys OR girls would be comfy here.  We tried to sprinkle in a few antiques so the room wouldn’t be too precious.

The queen size guest room was perfect for an obsession I’m having with a vinyl (yes, Vinyl!) wallcovering that looks like barn wood and faux bois (fake wood) which I’m loving right now.

I used it behind the bed for a feature in an otherwise character-less room.  A trick that I use for boring rooms:  When a room is ugly, wait guys, this is important…I decorate it!  This is the oldest trick in the book.  You won’t believe how many of my clients want to tear out a ceiling or replace a floor or add tons of moulding.  $$$ Spend all that money and you still have an empty room.  I just say, “let’s decorate it!”   Decorating a drab room gives you something to look at and takes your eye off all the, “blah.”

The master bedroom is the entire third floor. My big moment up there is a splurge on an amazing chintz.  I mean, nothing says forest cottage like roses and holly hock!  IMG_2850

I also decided to bring ruffles back by using a 4″ double ruffle.  This is truly luxurious in the woods!
