The peak of the interior designer’s year is the annual pilgrimage to High Point, NC for Furniture Market.  Along with The Northern Migration of birds, Designers flock from all over the 50 states to High Point to see what fabric, furniture and fancies are going to be a hit over the next 12 months.

It’s a whirlwind few days that often send us reeling with delights (and occasionally disasters). Here’s the part 1 of the high points we found notable:

Color Trends

The big color story this year was, surprisingly NOT Radiant Orchid, Pantone’s love-it-or-hate-it Color Of The Year; instead we were greeted by a sea of Coral.

It was the same story over and over, from showroom to showroom, and booth to booth.  The hue varied a little from a richer red coral to a warmer orange coral, but there was certainly no escaping it.

Coral & vermillion.

And My Precious (why, thats me of course)  would have been forced into self exile if it werent for  the eternal joy of my heart – blue & white – was given a worthy nod in everyone’s collection.
